Creating a trial

A four-step wizard to set up a new trial — details, parameters, players, rotations.

Trials are a separate flow from regular games. Use them to evaluate players for selection at the start of a season.

Trials → New trial

The wizard has four steps:

Step 1 — Trial details

  • Name — e.g. “U17 Trials 2026”
  • Date — when trials are run
  • Venue — optional

Step 2 — Parameters

  • Number of courts — drives how many parallel games run
  • Game length — minutes per trial game
  • Number of bibs/groups — how many teams the trial group is split into (typically 4–6)
  • Bib colours — assign a colour per group; surfaced everywhere in the rotations and reports
  • Voting scale — typically 5-star but configurable

Step 3 — Player import

  • Upload a CSV (see Importing players)
  • Or add players manually one at a time

Step 4 — Review & generate

  • The platform builds the rotation matrix automatically (see Generating rotations)
  • Confirm or tweak before locking it in
